Kenzo
Kenzo Parfums is a French luxury perfume brand, owned by the global luxury group LVMH, that emphasizes joyfulness, nature, and cultural diversity in its creations. The brand's philosophy centers on making the world a more beautiful place through its unique, poetic fragrances
Brand History and Philosophy
- Founded by Kenzo Takada: The fashion house was founded in Paris in 1970 by Japanese designer Kenzo Takada, who infused his work with fresh energy and a free spirit inspired by both Eastern and Western cultures.
- Launch of Perfumes: Kenzo expanded into fragrances in 1988 with "Ça sent beau", followed by many iconic scents, including the famous Flower by Kenzo in 2000.
- LVMH Acquisition: The brand was acquired by the luxury-products maker LVMH in 1993, and Kenzo Takada retired in 1999.
- Core Values: Kenzo's values are symbolized by flowers, representing a love of nature, openness, youthfulness, joy, and optimism.
- Commitment to Responsibility: Kenzo Parfums is a member of the Union for Ethical BioTrade (UEBT) since 2021, ensuring ethical sourcing and a positive impact on biodiversity and local communities for its ingredients. The brand is also committed to using more recycled materials and lighter packaging
Iconic Fragrances
- Flower by Kenzo: Since the poppy has no natural scent, Kenzo invented its fragrance, a unique powdery floral with notes of Bulgarian rose, Parma violet, vanilla, and white musk.
- Kenzo Homme: A masculine line of fragrances, known for its woody and marine notes, with bottle designs inspired by the strength and flexibility of bamboo and the cut of a katana, the samurai sword.
- L'Eau Kenzo: An aquatic and citrus scent line that transports the wearer to the freshness of the ocean
Through its collections, Kenzo Parfums aims to surprise and inspire, using scent to tell original stories of freedom, poetry, and happiness
